It was my birthday this week and since my colleagues are used to me baking every now and then I feel like I have to go all out for my birthday. I spent the two nights prior to my birthday baking and preparing.
I had prepared :
- Brownies with raspberry
- Cupcakes with raspberry buttercream,
- three different kinds of cakepops,
- "Mini-Gugl" with almond and honey that I had read about on Backbube
- Chocolate and caramel tartelettes with fleur de sel that Maike from The Culinary Trial blogged about
- a vegetarian quiche with sundried tomatoes, feta and basil
- and a quiche with ham and chives.
The different kind of cakepops were white cake, covered in white candy melts, dark cake, covered in red candy melts and a mixture of the two cakes with light blue candy melts.
They were a big success and all gone by the end of the day!
The little chocolate and caramel tarteletts with fleur de sel were just amazing, a melt-in-the-mouth case, filled with some caramel and chocolate ganache topped with some fleur de sel. Just divine!
I've made these cupcakes many times before, but the topping in the shape of a rose never fails to amaze. It really isn't that hard and since I was decorating these in the office I showed one of my male colleagues how to do it and he even decorated one.
Unfortunately I don't have a shot of the mini-gugl by themselves, but you can see them in the background in this photo.
In the next couple of days I will go through share some of the recipes, in the meantime enjoy your Friday!!
Beautiful table!! Loved everything!!
